The Blazers entered the draft with the #3, #23, and 42nd picks. Despite speculation that one or more of those picks would be traded to pair Damian Lillard with a second star, the Blazers used them all to draft prospects.
The Blazers selected G league ignite guard Scoot Henderson with the #3 pick. 6’2, 195 pound Henderson played the last two seasons with G League Ignite. He averaged 16.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 6.5 assists.
The 19 year old is thought to have future all star potential, and was too good to pass up by the Blazers.
The Blazers selected Kris Murray brother of Kings forward Keegan Murray with the 23rd pick. The 6’8 forward averages 20 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1.2 blocks while shooting 33% from distance last season at Iowa.
The Blazers selected Frenchman Rayan Rupert with the 42nd pick. The 6’6 forward has a 7’3 wingspan making him a very versatile 3&D wing. He played last season for the New Zealand Breakers averaging 5.9 points and 2.1 rebounds.
