Forward Trevor Ariza has informed the Portland Trail Blazers that he will be sitting out the resumption of the 2019-20 NBA season in Orlando.

Ariza decided to opt out to spend time with his son amidst a custody battle. It was either go to Orlando or accept a visitation window with his son. Trevor of course chose the ladder. Hats off to him.

The Blazers can replace Trevor Ariza by signing a free agent during the NBA’s transaction window (June 23rd- June 30th). The salary if the replacement player will not count against the Blazers salary.

Ariza was traded to Portland in January along with Wenyen Gabriel and Caleb Swanigan in exchange for Kent Bazemore, and Anthony Tolliver.
