The NBA has suspended the 2019-20 season in response to the (Covid-19) Coronavirus pandemic. The suspension took place after Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for the virus. Teammate Donovan Mitchell has also tested positive.

The suspension will last a minimum of 30 days. The NBA intends to continue the season at a later date from where it was paused. The NBA decided to make this unprecedented decision to put the health and well being of players, fans, media, staff, and alike over the game.

The league will continue to assess the situation as it unfolds and re-evaulate the suspension in a months time.
