The Portland Trail Blazers have converted the two way contract of forward Trendon Watford into a standard NBA contract and have signed him to a 4 year $5.8 million deal using their MLE. The final 2 years are not guaranteed.
The Blazers had signed Watford to a two way contract after he went undrafted in the 2021 NBA draft. The 6’9, 250 pound forward has averaged 4.5 points and 3.2 rebounds with the Blazers in his rookie season.
Watford had a career high 11 points against the Denver Nuggets. He has shown flashes of potential and the Blazers believe he can be part of the team into the future.
