The Portland Trail Blazers have signed center Cody Zeller to a year minimum contract. Zeller will replace Enes Kanter as the Blazers back up center behind Jusuf Nurkic.

Zeller played 8 seasons for the Charlotte Hornets averaging 8.7 points, 6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. Zeller has only played one full 82 game season and hasn’t played more than 58 games the last 5 seasons. He has played in 467 games out of 656.

The Blazers hope that Zeller can help improve the defense on the Blazers bench.
