The Portland Trail Blazers have signed guard Anfernee Simons to a 4 year, $100 million contract extension. Simons averaged 17.3 points, nearly 4 assists and 3 rebounds a game last season.
Simons took over as the Blazers primary scorer after the Blazers traded CJ McCollum and Star guard Damian Lillard sat half the season with an abdominal Injury. During that time Simons started 30 games, averaging 22 points on over 41% shooting from deep, and ascended as the Blazers starting shooting guard.
The Blazers moved both Norman Powell and CJ McCollum last season in order to go all in on Simons. He will start next to Lillard this season and likely share minutes with Gary Payton II and Josh Hart.
