The Utah Jazz got better with the trade for Mike Conley. He will fit perfectly in the backcourt with Donovan Mitchell, and is far better than Ricky Rubio. Utah also signed talented young Shooting Guard Bojan Bogdanovic to help off the bench. Ed Davis will likely get to start at PF, unless they opt to start journey man Jeff Green, who has been overrated and hasn’t really ever seemed to play to his full potential.

Though the Jazz made progress over the summer, they are weak in the front court behind Gobert and Davis. They will have to rely on guys like Niang, O’Neal, and Bradley, as well as new comers Goss and Howard who both came from overseas. The Jazz aren’t looking much better off the bench in the front court, though Bogdanovic helps a lot there. Mudiay, Exum, and Oni are Bojan’s help. Not great. The Jazz look to make a jump forward, but may be blocked by a lack of depth and a deep western conference. They could land higher than 5th come the end of the season if their young guys prove more talented than expected.
