Who knows what the Kings were thinking when they resigned Harrison Barnes to a 4 year $85 million contract, or win they signed forward Trevor Ariza. It feels a bit counter productive in the middle of a rebuild, but it could help the team more than it hurts. What does hurt is losing center Willie Cauley-Stein. They did replace him with big man Dewayne Dedmon, but it isn’t much of an upgrade. They also said goodbye to big man Kosta Koufos. The Kings signed Tyler Lydon, Richaun Holmes, and drafted Justin James, who they were more than high on.

Sacramento for the most part has stayed about the same. They will get another together with young talent in Fox, Heild, Bagley, and Bogdanovic. They will hopefully get a full healthy year out of Harry Giles, and see what he is really made of. They are pretty safe at nine, though Dallas could five them trouble, maybe. It is even Possible it San Antonio trades Aldridge and DeRozan this season as many believe will happen, they could even make a jump to 8th and make the playoffs. If they don’t look better, it could be a ticking clock for GM Vlade Divac.
