The Boston Celtics lost Kyrie Irving, Al Horford, Terry Rozier, and Marcus Morris to free agency and traded Aron Baynes. They got worse. The did sign all star Kemba Walker who pretty much replaces Kyrie Irving. They signed Center Enes Kanter to replace Baynes, which is in ways an upgrade. Baynes was more physical and offered a bit more on he offensive end, but Kanter is a killer offensive rebounder and shot blocker who can be a presence inside of them.

Boston might have to move Hayward to the 4. He has had time to heal and should play loads better this season. Hell he is going to have to. They signed big man Vincent Poirier out of Euroleague and he should help in the front court, but they haven’t made up for Al Horford leaving. Langford was a steal in the draft, Grant Williams could prove helpful out the gate, but it is more likely he and Carsen Edwards will take some time to develop. They also netted the undrafted Tacko Fall and it will be interesting to see if he gets any minutes this season. With Boston’s weak front court it seems likely. Theis really needs to step up this season. He will certainly have the opportunity.

So yeah Boston got worse which means it makes perfect that I have projected them to win 1 more game…right? The East is got generally a bit weaker as some of the talent spread out a bit throughout the conference or went west. The Celtics still have enough talent with Tatum, and Brown, and Smart to make things work. I expect them to be 3rd or 4th come the end of the season.
